The move followed a season in which the Splashes went 54–100 and drew a crowd of only 3,174 to their season finale, an 11-inning loss to Chicago.
For the first time, the 1994 Splashes had four starters win at least 10 games during the season, finishing in 6th place with a 74–79 record.
However, the love affair with the Splashes had begun as the S’s drew 1,060,910 fans to their 67 home dates of their inaugural season.
